Students are putting together their Keynote
Main ideas in Keynote
1) Explain how to extract DNA from a Strawberry (steps)
2) Explain why each step is completed

Turn into a movie and turn in to Google classroom.
Rubric Below

Due:

Assignment

Working on Strawberry Experiment (In Class)
Experiment
A) Take one to two strawberries and put them into ziplock bag. Add a bit of water and
seal the bag. Get as much of the air out as you can.
B) Smash strawberries until you don’t have any chunks
Reason: This breaks up cells walls
C) Put 3-4 drops of soap into bag and squish and mix more
Reason: The nuclear membrane is broken down with the soap releasing the DNA
D) Pore all into a test tube. Leave 2 inches from top (min)
Add cold alcohol 1-inch
Reason: Because DNA is lighter than the Alcohol (buoyancy) it will float to top

The white stuff on the top and floating is the DNA

Homework:  Take pictures as you go so you can make a keynote that explains how and why.

Key note must have labels and have voice over of the steps and pictures
Example below

We will work on keynote on Wed.

Keynote will be due on Thur. Turn into Google classroom.
