Oswalt Students Host Medieval Museum Event

It was a museum of Medieval art, clothing and weapons such as catapults, crossbows, battle axes and jousting lances… created by the hands of 7th graders! Stanley G. Oswalt Academy hosted their tremendously popular Medieval Museum event, this year during the day so more students schoolwide could experience it. Started in 2008, the Medieval Museum event is the culmination project at the end of student studies about Medieval Europe. Students work with a partner and have three weeks to do research and ultimately become an expert on their topic. They build an artifact or a 3-D display for the museum and must present to parents, students and staff. Students dress and “speak” from that time period, and the goal is for students to educate those in attendance by fielding questions.
