Jason Garcia, New Principal of Oswalt Academy
Mr. Jason Garcia was appointed as the new Principal of Oswalt Academy at the July 26, 2018 Board of Education Meeting.
Mr. Garcia has been at Ybarra Academy of Arts and Technology as Assistant Principal since 2015, where he has assisted with curriculum development, instructional strategies, overseeing classroom activities and professional development experiences to help support and improve instructional practices for academic achievement. He was also a Summer School Principal at Rowland Elementary and Shelyn Elementary and has played an active role in District Leadership activities.
Prior to RUSD, he had extensive teaching experience at Willard International Baccalaureate School in the Pasadena Unified School District, where he conducted district professional development centered around Math, writing, Reading, and technology and was Grade level chair, Technology Lead/coach and IB Lead/Coach.
