Dear Parents,
Starting the week of parent conferences I will no longer accept any late homework, unless its for unforeseeable circumstances. Please remember that I am flexible but I cannot continue to accept late or missed work from same children. Of course if you are absent or have an emergency I will make the necessary arrangements, but forgetting to do it is no longer an accepted excuse. If you had a lot of extracurricular activities, please notify me the as soon as possible. I can actually arrange to give you your homework a head of time. Please also keep in mind that all students are given sufficient time to do an assignment in class this includes homework. Reading: Read los Higos and answer the questions on page 12. Download the files below titled "Esperanza Questions page 12". These must be completed in a separate sheet of paper (failure to put in on notebook paper will result in it not being graded) and must be detailed responses. I spoke to each of you about the importance of writing complete sentences and following all the directions that are given to you. For question one writing sentence or just using one pieces of evidence will not be enough. Remember to explain your thinking as to why you selected your answer.

Social Studies: Continue to explore different kinds of textures you can bring to school to decorate your family migration map. I have seen some creative use of materials. Such as sugar crystals and sprinkles, think of what you can bring to outline the continents., don't forget to bring paint. You will actually be using acrylic paint throughout the year so make sure to conserve the paint you have.
Reading Log- You are still to read your independent book. Everyone in this class should have at least one book chapter book read by Friday. For this weeks reading prompt focus on Making Connections. Connections are more deep when you connect to a feeling. We will explore this prompt throughout the week.
