  • Make-up Testing for all grade levels is 5/7-5/11
This is a test of what your child has learned throughout the year.  On some upper grade test the CST concepts were learned over the past 2-3 years (8th grade history). There are released questions from the state if you want to take a look at the type of questions that are asked.

Release questions are on the link below for all grade levels.

The very best way to prepare for the test is a good night sleep and eat breakfast. Encourage your child to do their best and not to give up on any hard questions.
Have some fun and work on different types of puzzles. It helps tune the brain.

You may go through test taking skills with your child to show them how they can approach difficult questions. Here are a few:

1) Read questions slowly
2) Read questions before any readings
3) It is not a race to finish. Take your time
4) Go back and reread
5) Skip and come back to difficult questions
6) Most often your first answer is the best answer (don't over think questions)
7)  Relax: the more relaxed you are the more clear headed.  When your stressed answers don't come as quickly.
