Dear Oswalt Academy Families

The number one priority for parents is their child’s well being. More than 30 years’ worth of research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and at school. Grades and test scores climb. Self-esteem grows. Schools improve.

PTSA helps parents, students, school staff, and communities work together to share ideas about programs and activities that benefit children. Our PTSA provides information and resources that strengthen the connection between children, parents, the school, and the community.
In the past years, Oswalt Academy PTSA has:
• Funded family/student events with Welcome Back & Halloween Parade treats & Family/Literacy Night.
• Supported technology in the classroom by replacing hardware as needed and purchasing new LCD projectors.
• Encouraged academic success and Oswalt’s core values by funding Monthly Award assemblies and food with the
Principal for Outstanding Attendance. Special End of the Year awards, medals, etc., and Teacher Appreciation luncheon and
also funded. Book Fair is arranged through PTSA.
• Encouraged healthy lifestyles through Red Ribbon Week.
• Encouraged school pride with Oswalt t-shirt sales and Spirit Day treats.
• Supported classroom instruction by providing monetary allocations to every classroom, funded field trips, and busing and/or assemblies for every grade level.
• Provided funds for End of the Year Activities for every grade level (Field Days for grades TK-3, Country Fair for grades
