Oswalt Matheletes Win at Bishop Amat Competition

Twelve 7th/8th grade students volunteered to participate in a mathematics competition at Bishop Amat High School. Among the 7th grade individual participants were Isabella Castanon, Gabriel Dimalanta, Brandon Kwon, and David Militante. 8th grade students, Adrian Amora, Benjamin Filio, Dave Hong, Vanessa Kwan, Brianna Lau, Alexa Magbitang, Ivana Samson, and Kristy Tran participated as a team.

Over 600 students from various private and public schools participated in the competition. Each student was given 1 hour to complete 60 mathematical questions in pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry.

Individual Awards:
David Militante 1st place medal as the Top Oswalt Student
David Militante 1st place trophy among all 7th grade individual competitors
Gabriel Dimalanta 2nd place trophy among all 7th grade individual competitors

Team Awards:
1st place trophy in Group D (based on the number of competitors per group in 8th grade)
4th place trophy out of 21 schools that competed in the competition (7-8 scores combined)

Oswalt's students did exceptionally well for their first time at the mathematics competition. Congratulations to all of our Star Matheletes!
